(1)Before I believed in Christ
When I was a sophomore I had a close relationship with a girl having meals and going shopping just between her and me. I officially asked her to become my girlfriend three days before my birthday. In this way she became my girlfriend. But one day before my birthday I was received a mail from her which says, “We should split and become just a friend.” There were only three days being a friend and a girlfriend. I was overwhelmed and had my 20th birthday on a bench in a park at that night. I lost any hope and I could not concentrate on my studies at all.
(2)How I believed in Christ
At that time a friend of mine who is a Christian showed me 1Corintihians 10:13 in the Bible.
“No trial has overtaken you that is not faced by others. And God is faithful: He will not let you be tried beyond what you are able to bear, but with the trial will also provide a way out so that you may be able to endure it” (1Corinthians 10:13).
From this Bible verse I received hope and comfort.
Some months later I asked the friend to take me to the church. After the worship service he shared me a booklet which explained the gospel easily to understand. I had some hesitation to pray a prayer to accept Jesus as my savior. I had some anxiety because I could not imagine at all how my life would change from that time I prayed that prayer on. At the same moment, however, an idea occurred in my mind that Jesus was God and my own savior. I prayed that I accepted Jesus Christ as my personal savior from my sins.
(3)It was March 2013 when I received salvation at the church. Since then I have experienced God’s great love and grace in various ways.
I was able to get over my broken hearted at my college days. If I had not believed in Jesus and received salvation, my life would have proceeded in a wrong way.
Though I had a tendency to think negatively, I was changed to think positively.
The biggest thing I was received is relationship with my brothers and sisters (=family members in faith). As I have fellowship with other Christians I have been changed gradually. I was not able to trust others probably because of my past experiences. I have come to trust people gradually.
I believe that God will give me “a way out” even when I have a severe trouble in my future. “A way out” for me is God himself and His love. The reason Jesus Christ Himself Who is God endured the crucifixion is because of His love to us. I was changed by that love. I am heartily thankful to God.
