I’m going to talk about 3 things that brought me to Jesus Christ.
1. My aunt
She is a Christian. When I was a little girl, she was still single, so she didn’t have her own family, and she was so nice to me. We could seldom see each other, because she lived far away from me. One Christmas season she sent me a card. It was so beautiful. It was a first time for me to see such a card. It seemed to be very attractive and invite me into a unfamiliar world. I wondered what Christianity was all about.
2. Books
In my childhood my father bought me a lot of books. I loved them so much, and read them almost every day. I became to know the western people go to church on Sundays, pray before meals and read the Bible through some of them. Especially the family in “Little Women” was very lovey and worm people. I was so interested in the Christian faith.
3. My piano lesson
When I was in an elementary school, I began to take piano lessons 2 days a week. The piano teacher and his whole family were Christian. There were many books in the waiting room for kids. One day I took a book from the bookshelf and it was my first time that I read the Bible. Even though it was rewritten for kids, I understood Jesus Christ is a very nice man.
When I grew up, I felt I should go to church. I was a high school student and I wanted to sum up my fragments of knowledge about Christianity to know about the world, the life and myself. On one Sunday I visited the church in my town. Soon after the day, I accepted Jesus Christ as my savior. I was 17.
My parents aren’t Christian worshipping their ancestors every morning. Besides the number of Christian is only 1 % of the whole population of Japan. It was a very miracle I could have some opportunity to know the Bible and Jesus. I’m convinced that God found me and guide me to Him.
Life is tough as you know. I have been struggling with many problems of life like all of you. But from the day I became Christian, God has been with me always and kept me in safe and peace.
